The defining mistake of modern political analysis is treating power as if it still flows primarily through laws, elections, borders, and formal authority. Those mechanisms remain visible and contested, but they are no longer decisive. Real power has migrated into control systems: payment rails, standards bodies, compliance regimes, energy flows, data chokepoints, and algorithmic decision layers. They do not need your consent. They do not require overt coercion. They simply determine what can function at scale.
